Eloi Federation – Tempest Grav-tank - £8.00

Tempest grav-tank
The Tempest is the most commonly encountered anti-gravity combat vehicle of the Eloi Federation. A swift and highly manoeuvrable vehicle combining unprecedented mobility with lethal and highly accurate firepower.
Tempests are known to be crewed by two Eloi, a pilot/driver and a weapons operator both of which sit in the small rear compartment. The apparent central cockpit is in fact a highly advanced sensor array, real time data gathering module and terrain following suite linked directly to the crew by a neural linked helmet interface. This gives both crew members unprecedented situational awareness of their surroundings on the battlefield.
Common armaments for the dorsal turret are a high energy long barrelled laser cannon deadly against armoured targets in combination with a tri-barrelled pulse laser providing rapid fire capability against infantry and light vehicle targets, other weapon combinations have also been observed.
The graceful curvature and the thick well slopped composite armour plates of Eloi vehicles provide excellent protection from enemy fire but it is the tanks speed and agility that is considered to be its primary defensive measure.

Eloi Federation – Zephyr Grav-tank - £8.50

Zephyr recon tank

The Zephyr is an extensively modified version of the Tempest grav-tank created to fulfil a reconnaissance role for Eloi armoured battlegroups. Modifications for this vehicle include further silencing of the already quiet main drive engines and the fitting of a chameleon like cloaking field array to the forward hull sections that when active mimics the appearance and colouring of the surrounding terrain rendering the vehicle extremely hard to see. The rear compartment has been extended backwards allowing room for a small scout team to be embarked as required.

Armaments are usually of the lighter kind than seen on the Tempest as the Zephyrs roll is information gathering and observation of enemy activity ahead of the Eloi advance not combat. But on occasion it has been recorder that Zephyr stealth attack squadrons fitted with heavier firepower have been used to great effect in aggressive hit and run attacks on isolated enemy formations and lightly defended positions.

Faut bien avouer qu'il y a des fois où j'hésite à poster les nouveautés de peur d'attirer l'attention. Mais je pense que le patron de Vanguard Miniatures est bien conscient du problème et a adopté la méthode "Onslaught Miniatures" : on s'inspire mais on ne copie pas exactement.

Par exemple voici le Falcon W40k :



Si l'on compare, le Grav-Tank Vanguard Miniatures n'est pas une copie conforme mais bien une (grosse) inspiration :



Ajoutez à cela que Vanguard a son propre univers où, par exemple, les Eloi sont des humains qui ont évolué de leur côté.

On est bien d'accord qu'il y a beaucoup d'hypocrisie dans la méthode puisque les figurines sont utilisées à 99% pour jouer à Epic mais cela doit les protéger des attaques. Et, il faut bien dire, cela permet à la communauté de continuer à vivre sa vie sans forcément avoir toujours besoin d'être équipé en imprimante 3D (le respect du copyright est pire à ce niveau-là) ou de faire appel au marché noir (le copy quoi ?).
L'un dans l'autre Vanguard Miniatures ne marche pas (encore ?) sur les plats de bande de GW et au contraire contribue à maintenir une communauté qui est un gros marché pour des jeux comme Adeptus Titanicus et Aeronautica Imperialis. Pour moi, sans connaître le détail des chiffres (au pifomètre donc), c'est du gagnant-gagnant.

Je ne suis pas dans le secret des dieux mais honnêtement je ne pense pas que cela s'arrête là. Il y avait déjà un début de gamme pour cette faction et on y trouvait des motojets et du count as de guerriers aspects. Pour moi il a l'intention de développer tout cela au même titre que les autres armées déjà disponibles (pour rappel Space Marines 30k dont version hérétique, Adeptus Mechanicus, Orks et Garde Impériale dont version hérétique).

Les "pas du tout des Eldars" sont vraiment top.
Surtout que c'est une faction qui me botte bien.

Ils exploitent quand même un univers qui ne leur appartient pas (même si c'est fait de manière détournée) sans payer de droits.
Donc, même s'ils ne lui nuisent pas, GW a bien un (petit) manque à gagner.

Pour moi ils sont bien en faute même si c'est largement compensé par tout ce qu'ils apportent à la communauté Epic et indirectement à GW. Comme je le disais je pense que sans cette communauté AT et AI n'auraient certainement pas bénéficié des mêmes volumes de vente.

Si GW vendait ses droits à d'autres mouleurs de figurines pour faire vivre ces jeux annexes, cela ferait du manque à) gagner, mais ils ne veulent pas, donc la remarque n'a pas lieu d'être. Sinon, les fabricants de figs de football americain fantastique aurait moults problèmes.

Vanguards fait des figurines de plus en plus belles et ils sont très réactifs sur les demandes des joueurs, et vu le niveau c'est vraiment pas cher.

Dernières nouveautés 6mm :

Novan Convent – Pacifier APC - £8.00

The Pacifier is a heavily modified variant of the Sparta APC, its primary roll is in urban pacification operations. Fitted with larger armoured viewports than a traditional APC and with hull mounted periscopes for the passengers, those onboard are provided with improved situational awareness when operating in built up areas. A dozer blade can also be mounted on the forward hull to help with breaching obstacles. Standard armament is a small remotely operated twin machine gun mount on the upper hull.

Alternatively the passenger compartment can be quickly refitted to contain an armoured fuel tank from which to feed a non lethal crowd control water cannon, or if in extremely hostile situations or supporting battlefield operations a heavy dual flamethrower can be mounted.
