Citation :Dear All,
happy New Year and I hope this is the one that is the best for you all.
I hoped I will be sharing some great news, but unfortunately I can't.
As you know, Pulp City, between my completely turned around work life and complete lack of time for an extra business, is at stand-still. The distribution through Wargamer is a bit of a joke as there is no effort at all to promote the game, sometimes even list it in their catalogues.
We started looking for other options and in October entered the process of selling the game to a good company that would put effort into promoting the game. In the current market conditions and the changes to the gaming industry, we were willing to settle for a fraction of the price to keep the game going. Mind you, we still have lots of unreleased assets and stock. Major UK company, backed out at a whim in the last moment after a month of contract pending - their argumentation was very vague, even though we had me fly over to introduce them to the game and design.
Am I surprised? Not really, because this industry is totally broken - broken as business when staying as a hobby side project (a long time story as Pulp City) and broken with ethical standards from medium to bigger businesses. The whole operation froze everything else for 3 months as we didn't want to release things to stay fair.
Anyways,
At the moment, last project on my agenda is getting out SG models in the promised format and closing off PC as a business in a current shape and form. We will be looking for potential buyers, fan buy out - any option that would keep the game going. It is a bitter sweet moment, but unfortunately the only way to go at the moment.
Best regards,
