D'ailleurs à ce sujet, mon loucious, fait gaffe aussi de ton côté (oui c'est valable pour tout le monde, la malcompréhension ça arrive). Plus sur le sujet, moi je dis qu'on s'en fout de la méchanceté de Sauron. c'est le parti pris de l'auteur de traiter le sujet sous forme de conte, donc il y a un méchant. C'est suffisant. Le sujet à mon sens est autre, à savoir les thèmes de fond.

Pour moi la distinction enfant/adulte se fait foncièrement sur le style et le niveau de langage : A lecture plus difficile, compréhension plus difficile. Si on retire cette variable de difficulté dans l'accession à la lecture, je n'ai pas l'impression que l'acquisition des thèmes, leur compréhension et leur décryptage (différents niveaux de lecture) soient plus complexe pour LOTR que pour Potter.

Bah je trouve que sur le thème du racisme, Potter explore davantage les divers racismes insidieux, notamment sur le thème du "on est pareil mais différent" qui se rapproche beaucoup de la réalité. Au final les sorciers SONT des humains, seulement ils ont des pouvoirs magiques. Mais ils sont issus d'humains et avoir deux parents moldus n'empêche pas d'avoir un enfant sorcier (et vice versa avec les cracmols).

En revanche dans LOTR le racisme est plus "évident" .... déjà parce que ce sont des races différentes. Hormis quelques querelles intra-humaines et intra-elfiques, dans l'ensemble, les peuples ne peuvent pas se piffer entre eux uniquement. L'humain méprise le nain, le nain méprise l'elfe et l'elfe méprise tout le monde :D
Dans Potter on a aussi cette idée de race (asservissement de races jugées inférieures, comme les centaures, les gobelins ou les elfes de maison) exploitée dès le 2éme bouquin si j'ai bonne mémoire. Il y a un racisme entre race et un racisme intra-humains avec le clivage sorcier/moldus.

Il faut comprendre que je dissocie "facile" de "explicite". Un thème peut être explicite sans pour autant être utilisé de manière facile. Sans pour autant être "un prétexte" ou une "excuse" à telle ou telle chose (typiquement : l'Épouvanteur, sympa à lire, mais les méchants sont justes méchants, ils n'ont d'autres but que de donner une raison au héros d'être un héros).

Alors certes les méchants sont caricaturaux, on les voit et on sait que ce sont des méchants. mais ça marche là encore pour les deux oeuvres : Tu n'as pas douté un seul instant que les Nazguls étaient des méchants, comme on a calé directement que Lucius Malfoy ou les mangemorts étaient des méchants. C'est explicite. Ca n'en est pas moins des méchants intéressants. D'ailleurs petite déception, là encore pour les deux, j'aimerais en savoir plus sur les Malefoy et sur les Nazguls. Ils ne sont pas assez développés à mon goût.

Cependant au fil de notre discussion, je remarque que Rowling laisse assez peu place à l'interprétation concernant les thèmes, alors que si certains thèmes sont clairement exposés par Tolkien, il laisse un certain champ libre à l'appréciation du lecteur. Je ne pensais pas que ce soit volontaire mais, comme j'ai expliqué le niveau d'accessibilité à Tolkien (d'un autre âge que le notre), tu as su m'expliquer le passif de Tolkien et je t'accorde que vu son vécu, il est parfaitement imaginable que ces pistes aient pu être implicitement intégré par l'auteur, ou tout au moins, qu'il n'y a aucune raison valable de penser que ce ne fut pas le cas.
