Sorry for my english again

Mes excuses pour mon anglais de nouveau

I am fully aware that working with Prodos does bring some unpleasant baggage to the proceedings, however I believe that they will bring a considerable positive contribution to the project which will not only benefit AoT team but the backers also. We haven't made this decision lightly, I have been accused of being crazy a few times but you have to trust me here that they are our best option.

Now before i go into a fuller explanation of my reasons this does not invalidate any of the frustration and disappointment any of you feel towards Prodos, I have heard quite a few tales of what's happened over the last few years so I do fully appreciate and understand the poor esteem you hold them in so this is in no way a justification of things that have happened.

Hello John !! ^^

Welcome to Warmania !! ^^

I hope you could have some pressure on prodos (in case of troubles) that backers didn't (and still haven't)...

J'espère que tu pourras avoir quelque moyen de pression sur prodos (en cas de problèmes) que les backers n'ont pas eu (et n'ont toujours pas)...

Serviteur,

Morikun

Last year I approached a number of companies with a view to manufacturing our line, none of them was Prodos. In the end we settled on one that has plenty of experience in dealing with high quality resin casting in small scales within this industry and had handled high volumes and could also handling handling, packing and shipping side of the operation too. I thought we had struck gold. However 6 months into our discussions they still hadn't furnished me with accurate unit costings, mould costs or shipping times. A further irritation was they wouldn't clearly explain their casting process which prevented the team from breaking up our model designs to minimize the number of components needed. After much wrangling and a further 6 months we were still no closer to getting our costings. So after a brief flirtation of trying to cast the tanks in metals ourselves, an ugly out come where the models we in a dozen pieces and there was much warping and tears, we "cast" our eye about for a new partner. Enter Prodos in late February this year.

Within 3 days of talking to Prodos we received a sample print of one of our tanks, it was fabulous. Within 3 weeks we had sample test casts of the models along with accurate costings and mould costs. Prodos were a breath of fresh air that got the project back on track- the year spent working with the other company left the project languishing and in serious danger of sinking.

Since then we have made a number of sample moulds, printed models and sent a range of casts to numerous blog and review sites. All this Prodos have done in a prompt and timely fashion. Even when we received some stern commentary from our good Morikun on some failings of the casts Prodos responded in a positive manner and fixed the issues and shipped new casts.

My own experiences aside I have spoken to a number of other companies in the industry that work with them, either for casting or 3D printing and they have all been very positive. Prodos do a considerable amount of work in the "background" of the hobby and do have a good reputation.

Further it is very difficult to argue with the quality of the product they produce, our tanks look great and a lot of that is credit to them. The team here love what they have managed to do, and we are not "green" guys we have seen a lot come and go, and what Prodos have achieved has got us very excited about what we can achieve.

Another aspect is their costings, they are very well priced for the quality. As part of my due diligence we have second and third sourced products just to have a contingency if anything goes wrong, as we have too much riding on this. Frankly no one comes close enough to their prices, if we have to go with another supplier our prices would have to increase 50% at least and I not sure if the market would bear that.

Finally we do have contracts with them, for prices, lead times and deliveries that they have to fulfill, not a penny will leave our bank account to pay for casts until they ship and we have confirmation. So if the goods don't ship they don't get paid.

Further I have personal assurances that their "issues" will be behind them before they start our project.

It is for these reasons that we are confident that they will do an excellent job for us with Age of Tyrants.

One thing I would say also is that we will not supply stores or distributors our products until all backer orders are fulfilled.

Anyway that's it from my end, feel free to comment, abuse
